Caoba Foundation aims to foster holistic development for children and youth, guaranteeing equitable access to top-tier educational opportunities. Across our diverse range of programs, we aim to enrich our young learners’ academic, personal, and emotional growth, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and success.
Our vision is to aspire to a world where education transcends accessibility, becoming a transformative force that empowers our children and youth to seize control of their destinies and emerge as catalysts for positive change in their communities.
Our methodology centers on nurturing emotional well-being, establishing inclusive and enriching educational environments, and nurturing a culture of harmony and coexistence within families. We prioritize the holistic care of every individual, acknowledging the pivotal role of their mental and emotional well-being in their overall development. Our goal is to cultivate educational settings where each individual feels valued, respected, and inspired, fostering healthy relationships and fostering a tightly-knit community that champions the growth and achievement of all its members.
In January 2002 the Paula Weiskopf Foundation was founded, initially providing childcare for Caoba employees’ children. Its primary objective was to provide employees with a safe, reliable, and pleasant environment for their children. Today, it is a duly registered Montessori Orientation Center for Initial Education for children in the community of Jocotenango.
In 2016, the foundation began with the Scholars of Excellence Program, an integrative education scholarship program, and with this expansion, and formally became the Caoba Foundation, registering in 2020 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in the United States.
The Paula Weiskopf Foundation is our implementing partner in Guatemala, and Caoba Doors is our business partner, whose generosity allows us to focus all fundraising efforts directly on the people we serve. This strategic alliance allows us to strengthen the vision of building a community where education catalyzes transformation in the lives of many children and young adults.
